Mutanjan is a sweet and delicious dish everyone loves eating and cooking. It is prepared in sweet rice with saffron, cardamom, and many dry fruits. People consider it a classic dish known as mutanjan rice. It plays a significant role in many South Asian home celebrations, gatherings, and parties, making it much-loved food.
INGREDIENTS:
- Basmati Rice – 2 cups (soaked for 30 minutes)
- Sugar – 1 1/2 cups (adjust to taste)
- Ghee or Oil – 1/2 cup
- Milk – 1/2 cup
- Cardamom Pods – 4-5
- Cinnamon Stick – 1 small piece
- Cloves – 4-5
- Food Colors (Red
- Green
- Yellow) – a few drops of each
- Raisins – 2 tablespoons
- Chopped Almonds – 2 tablespoons
- Chopped Pistachios – 2 tablespoons
- Chopped Cashews – 2 tablespoons
- Dry Coconut Slices (optional) – 2 tablespoons
- Rose Water (optional) – 1 tablespoon
